No more blocks!

Hey, I’m Nejc 👋
I’m a full-stack engineer with a practical mindset and a strong sense of responsibility. Outside of work, I’m active in scouting and volunteer initiatives, and I care a lot about personal development — mentally and physically. I bring that same discipline into software: clear goals, clean execution, and dependable results.
Psst — drag my photo aside. The blocks behind it are hiding the good parts.
What drives me beyond the keyboard
- Scouting: Besides programming, I’ve been active in scouting since childhood. As a volunteer, I take part in local and national events, and I also contribute to charity projects such as Škrat za 1 dan. Scouting has helped me develop key skills like leadership, responsibility, reliability, and punctuality — qualities I bring into my professional work every day.
- Mind: I’m also deeply interested in the human mind, so I regularly read and listen to content on the topic and keep expanding my knowledge.
- Balance: To unwind, I occasionally make time for films and TV shows. One of the most recent films I watched was Avatar: Fire and Ash, and my favorite series is Person of Interest.
Movement, Snow and Cold
- Physical activity is my “RESET”. I enjoy staying in motion — from CrossFit and gym training to volleyball. In winter, you’ll usually find me on the snow: snowboarding and cross-country skiing are my go-to. I also thrive in cold conditions; the cold is part of the challenge and discipline.
Activities
My programming world
- Getting started: I started as a teenager, driven by curiosity, building my first apps and exploring different technologies. My early experience included C++, C#, Python, and the basics of web development (HTML, CSS). That hands-on start gave me a strong technical foundation and a systematic approach to learning.
- University: I built on this foundation at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FERI), in the Computer Science and Information Technologies program, where I also completed my degree. During my studies, I gained practical experience through projects and work placements — including GS1 Slovenia (website maintenance) and Comtron d.o.o. (web application development; Ionic, SQL, Docker, GitLab).
- Currently: I’m currently employed at Result d.o.o., where I develop and maintain mobile and web applications. My primary stack includes Flutter, React, Go, Java, SQL, supported by delivery and infrastructure tooling (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab). I also occasionally work with Swift, Django/Python, and UI/UX tasks in Figma.
- Goals: My goals are to build reliable products from idea to production: clear architecture, an excellent user experience, and stable, automated deployments. I focus on mobile development, backend architecture, and DevOps/CI/CD, while also integrating AI in a practical way — from user-facing smart features to automating development workflows, testing, and support. I want to grow into an independent, accountable engineer who can take end-to-end ownership of a solution.
- Side projects: Outside of work, I occasionally build side projects where I test new technologies and improve workflows — from prototypes to production-ready solutions. My focus is on automation, clean code structure, and user experience. Some of these projects are tied to volunteering (e.g., scouting), where I build websites and digital tools for events.
