Zlet info page
Lightweight event information hub for Zlet 2025 participants — fast to open, easy to update, and usable on weak mobile connections.

Implementation notes
The main goal was clarity. Every extra interaction or unnecessary page would slow down access to time-sensitive event information, so the site deliberately stayed focused and compact.
I kept the interface lightweight, prioritized above-the-fold essentials, and organized content so users could scan quickly without reading long blocks of text.
The result was a practical event utility page rather than a traditional marketing website.
Problem & solution
Problem
Participants needed a single place to find schedules, contact details, location notes, and critical links without installing an app or signing in.
Solution
I built a focused static website optimized for mobile usage, QR-code access, and fast loading, so attendees could open it instantly and get the information they needed.
My role
Full-stack
Designed and built the project independently — from content structure and UI to deployment. I gathered organizer requirements, planned the page architecture, and shipped the site in a short pre-event window.
Key decisions
Static site instead of CMS
Because the content structure was relatively stable and speed mattered most, I chose a lightweight HTML/CSS/JS stack without a CMS or runtime-heavy framework.
Mobile-first information architecture
Most visitors arrived from printed QR codes on phones, so navigation and content hierarchy were optimized for small screens first.
GitLab Pages deployment
Free hosting with automated deploys made updates reliable and easy without adding maintenance overhead for event organizers.
Challenges & fixes
Content changed until the last minute
Schedules and contact information were updated shortly before the event, which required a fast and predictable publishing flow.
I structured the content so updates stayed simple and deploys remained fast, reducing the risk of manual HTML mistakes during the final edits.
Weak mobile connectivity on location
The event took place outdoors, where participants could not rely on stable mobile internet throughout the day.
I kept the site small and lightweight so the first visit loaded quickly and subsequent visits remained practical even on weaker connections.
